In support of Aston Carter’s career readiness and job training youth initiative, we created a youth-centric data collection tool to be used for the program. Through applications of positive youth development, the SWOT analysis presented to students featured reflection, questioning, and rationale. By creating developmentally and culturally responsive questions, we provided asset and strengths-minded approaches to collecting both pre- and post-program tools for youth to consider their own trajectories and areas of improvement.

As part of our year-long Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Justice consulting with Martha’s Vineyard Public Charter School, we curated a community resource night for Brazilian parents and families. We organized a panel discussion centered on the educational and life experiences of key Brazilian stakeholders Martha’s Vineyard. We also recruited community organizations to table the event—connecting island resources to families who are part of one of Martha’s Vineyard’s largest immigrant populations. One unique feature of this event included student-sourced panelist questions collected from diversity and curriculum survey data obtained prior to the event.

In our work with The International School of Brooklyn, we curated the school’s first annual Juneteenth Jubilee. “The Stories We Share & Tell” was an afternoon of historical, educational, and experiential activities honoring the meaning of Juneteenth and many contributions of African-Americans to the fabric of the United States. Unique aspects of this event included: a custom created Gallery of the Greats highlighting influential and unsung African-American inventors & pioneers and the Black Culture Corner Dance station where families explored the long-standing legacy of African-American contributions to American entertainment.
